Composition
Each tablet contains 600 or 800 mg Ibuprofen.
Each Suppository contains 300 mg Ibuprofen.
Each 5 ml Suspension contains 100 mg Ibuprofen.
Each 1 gm Cream contains 100 mg Ibuprofen.

Indications
- Rheumatoid arthritis. - Osteoarthritis.
- Dysmenorrhoea. - Pyrexia.
- Acute or chronic pain with inflammatory
component.

Dosage
Tablets:
1200 mg - 1800 mg daily in divided doses.
Maintenance dose: 600 - 1200 mg daily. Dosage
Suspension:
The daily dosage of Alphafen® Oral Suspension is 20 mg/kg of bodyweight in divided doses.
This can be achieved as follows:
1-2 years: One 2.5 ml spoonful (50 mg) three to four times a day.
3-7 years: One 5 ml spoonful (100 mg) three to four times a day.
8-12 years: Two 5 ml spoonful (200 mg) three to four times a day.

How Supplied
Alphafen® 600 mg tablet: Boxes of 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 (AL/PVC) strips.
Alphafen® 800 mg tablet: Boxes of 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 (AL/PVC) strips.
Alphafen® Cream: 20 gm tube.
Alphafen® Suppositories: Boxes of 5 Suppositories.
Alphafen® Suspension: Bottels of 60 ml & 120 ml.

Mechanism of action
Alphafen® is a (NSAID) that has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic activities.
Like the other (NSAID) effect is related to prostaglandin synthetase inhibition.
It act by inhibiting cyclo-oxygenaze enzyme and so inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activities that provide symptomatic relief of inflammation and pain.
