Composition
Each tablet contains: Tofisopam 50 mg.

Indications
Anxiety-related functional disorders and disorders of autonomic function e.g.:
- Gastrointestinal: e.g. Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
- Cardiovascular: e.g. Hypertension, Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia
- Genito-urinary: e.g. Perimenopausal Symptoms.
Adjuvant therapy to control psychosomatic symptoms such as headache, fatigue, tachycardia, sweating.


Dosage
The average daily dose is 1 to 2 tablets one to three times daily (50 to 300 mg per day). In case of occasional administration 1 to 2 tablets should be used.

How Supplied
Carton boxes of 1, 2, or 3 (AL/Transparent PVC) strips, each of 10 tablets & and an inner leaflet.

Pharmacological Action
- Tofisopam belongs to an anti-anxiety group of medications known as homophthalazines, which show strong anxiolytic potency with insignificant muscle relaxant and anticonvulsive activity, so differ from ordinary benzodiazepines e.g. diazepam. They are formerly called 2,3-benzodiazepine derivatives.
- In contrast to diazepam and lorazepam, tofisopam did not impair psychomotor function (sedation, mood enhancing effect, muscle relaxation or fatigue).
- The administration of tofizopam does not lead to physical or psychic dependence.


Usage In Pregnancy And Lactation
- Usage in Pregnancy: The risk of malformation with first trimester exposure to benzodiazepines or benzodiazepine-related agents at therapeutic doses is minimal to low. However, the use of all benzodiazepines during pregnancy should be avoided.
- Usage in Lactation: Special attention should be paid to premature neonate or if the maternal dose is particularly high.
