Capsules
itraconazole 100 mg
Composition
Each hard gelatin capsule contains: itraconazole pellets 100 mg.

Indications & Dosage
1- Dermatomycosis: 200 mg once daily for 7 days or 100 mg once daily for 15 days.
2- Highly keratinized regions as in plantar tinea pedis and palmar tinea manus:
200 mg b.i.d. for 7 days or100 mg once daily for 30 days.
3- Pityriasis versicolor: 200 mg once daily for 7 days.
4- Onychomycosis :
a) Pulse treatment: A pulse treatment consists of two capsules twice daily (200 mg b.i.d.) for one week.
Two pulse treatments are recommended for finger nail infections & three pulse treatments for toenail infections.
Pulse treatments are always separated by a period of 3 weeks of drug-free interval.
Clinical response will become as the nail re-grows.
b) Continuous treatment: Toenails with or without finger nail involvement 200 mg once daily for 3 months.
5- Aspergillosis: 200 mg once daily for 2 - 5 months.
6- Candidosis: 100 – 200 mg once daily for 3 weeks – 7 months.
7- Histoplasmosis: 200 mg once daily to be increased, if necessary, up to 200 mg twice daily for 8 months.


How Supplied
Arozole® is available in carton box containing strip of 4 or 14 hard gelatin capsules, each capsule contains 100 mg itraconzole in a pelet formulation & an inner leaflet.

Mechanism of action
Itraconazole, a triazole derivative, has a broad spectrum of activity.
Itraconazole impairs the synthesis of ergosterol in fungal cells. Ergosterol is a vital fugal cell membrane component.
